Black Girl STEM Magic is special! Black girls and women have our own way of making magic happen anywhere we find ourselves. #BlackGirlSTEM Magic is a special shout-out, recognition, and solidarity to say “I see you sis!” to other Black women in STEM. It’s a call to bring our imagination, creativity, ingenuity, self, community, and love to STEM.

In the name of my own #BlackGirlSTEMMagic, I would love to join the faculty of an HBCU as a research affiliate, so that I can contribute to the teaching of the next cohort of Black STEM scholars and innovators. Continuing my full-time work in technology research, collaborating with researchers and teachers, especially in engineering education and STEM social justice, would be a magical combination. HBCUs are so nice that I went to them twice! Bringing my talent in research and education back home is an important goal.

If I had my own STEM fairly god mother wand…

Booking and Consulting.

Local nonprofits.

For campus student orgs, churches, and small non-profits I am open to receive requests for panels, fireside chats, and mini-workshops and book 3 per quarter based on my availability and location. Please message me to schedule!

Nonprofits, universities and colleges.

Education and social good are where my heart and purpose come to life. Keynotes, panels, fireside chats and short workshops (<2 hrs.) are my offerings for large nonprofits, universities, and colleges. Research, specialized consulting or teaching-based engagements are also available. Fees are sliding scale based on organizational capacity.

Companies and other entities.

Impact at scale has been a major feature of my work and experience. Companies, employee resource groups, and other large entities concerned with the opportunity for systemic impact are a site of importance for me. Please contact for booking panels, firesides and workshops.

Research talks.

I’m happy to offer talks based on my research in the following areas: STEM as social justice, intersectional tech identity development, identity-trajectory, epistemological approaches to confront anti-Blackness, and womanism as a framework.

Consulting.

An interdisciplinary background can be hard to find. My experience in engineering education research, teaching, curriculum design, organizational strategy, and advising will most likely offer you and your organization a unique perspective for your next steps.

Create it.

It’s rare that we know all of the possibilities. Please reach out to me if you’d like to collaborate and are not sure what category this might fit in - buckets are only useful until they don’t fit something unique!
